Sri Annapoorna Rice Traders

If you head over to Vyalikaval, specifically the 1st Main and 1st Cross in Byrasundra 1st Block, you will find our rice trading spot. It is a very basic operation. We have stacks of rice bags piled high against the walls. The smell of raw grain is the first thing you notice when you walk in. We don't have a fancy showroom or sales staff in suits. It's just us and the bags of rice. Most of our day is spent moving these heavy sacks around or weighing out portions for people who come by. It’s physical work and it gets quite dusty, especially when we are unloading a new shipment. The floors are concrete and the lighting is just some old tube lights. We serve the local families who want good rice for their daily meals. We don't do any big marketing or have a website. People just know we are here in the 1st Block. Sometimes we have a cup of tea with the regular customers while they decide which variety they want this time. It’s a slow and steady business. We don't try to be anything we are not. We just sell rice from our small corner in Vyalikaval. It can be tiring work, especially when the weather is hot, but it’s what we do. We like the simple nature of the trade and the people we meet. We've been at this spot in Byrasundra for a long time and plan to stay.
