Sree Sivananda General Stores

We’ve been running Sree Sivananda General Stores for years now. You can find us at Palace Road, right near Hare Krishna Road in Kumara Park East 6. It’s a small shop, honestly. We stock the usual things people need daily, like soap, some snacks, and stationery. The shelves are always a bit crowded because we try to fit everything in. Sometimes it takes me a minute to find exactly what someone is asking for if it's tucked in the back. It gets a bit hectic in the evenings when everyone is coming home from work and wants a quick loaf of bread or some milk. We open early in the morning and stay open until fairly late. The floor needs sweeping way more often than I actually get around to doing it. It’s just a neighborhood store. We know most of the people who walk through the door by their first names. My cousin helps out behind the counter when I need to go get more stock from the wholesaler. It’s not a supermarket, just a regular place. We’ve got a small fridge that hums a bit too loud, but it keeps the drinks cold. Sometimes the kids from the school nearby come in for candy and make a bit of a mess. That's just part of it. We just keep things moving and try to stay stocked up on the basics. It’s a lot of standing around and waiting for the next person, but it’s fine.
