Sree Durga Metal And Alloys is located out on Thadagam Road, specifically at numbers 21 and 22 in Dr. M.S. Udhaya Murthy Nagar. It’s a bit of a drive out here, but we like the space it gives us. The air always has that faint smell of metal and machinery because that’s what we live and breathe every day. It’s a dusty job, and our clothes usually show it by the end of the shift. We have a small yard where we keep some of the heavier stuff, and the machines inside are almost always running. It gets quite loud, so we have to shout sometimes just to hear each other over the clanging. We aren't a corporate giant with shiny floors; it’s more of a boots-on-the-ground kind of place. The neighborhood has grown a bit over the years, but it still feels like the outskirts where people actually make things with their hands. We usually start early in the morning when it's still a bit cool. By noon, the sun is hitting the roof hard and it gets warm inside the workshop. We just take our breaks under the shade of the trees nearby. We don’t spend much time on the computer or writing fancy reports. Most of our work is physical and requires us to be right there on the shop floor. It's honest work and we’ve been at it for a long time now on Thadagam Road.
