Speed Roadways Pvt Ltd is located at 34 Lalbagh Road. It’s an old part of the city and things move a certain way around here. We’ve been running this transport business for quite a while now. The office is small and tucked away in a corner, filled with the smell of old paper and sometimes diesel from the trucks parked nearby. We don't go in for fancy advertising or big billboards like the newer companies. Most of our work comes from people who have known us for years. We handle a lot of freight going out to different states, which involves a lot of waiting for permits and checking on the weather reports. My dad started this and now I’m helping run the daily operations. We have some regular drivers who have been with us since the beginning. They are good men who know the roads and don't complain much. Sometimes the trucks need repairs right when we have a big load waiting, and that’s just part of the frustration of this job. We try to keep our prices reasonable so people keep coming back. We don't have a lot of staff, so everyone ends up doing a bit of everything. One minute I'm on the phone with a client, the next I'm out back checking a manifest. It keeps the day interesting even if it's tiring. Lalbagh Road is a busy place, and we are just another part of the bustle. We stay open late most nights to make sure the last trucks are sent off properly. It's not easy work, but it's what we know how to do. We just keep moving forward one day at a time.
