Sowmya Provision Stores

Sowmya Provision Stores is right in the heart of Yelahanka. It’s the kind of place where you can smell the spices and the grains as soon as you step inside. We have bags of rice leaning against the counters and shelves packed with all the small things people need for their kitchens. I’ve been behind this counter for years, watching the kids in Yelahanka grow up and start coming in to buy things for their own homes. The shop isn't very big, so we have to use every inch of space we have. Sometimes things get a bit disorganized during the morning rush, but we usually find what the customer is looking for eventually. The floor is swept every morning, but the dust from the street always finds its way back in. We don't have a computer to ring things up; we just use a notepad and a calculator. It works fine for us. People come here not just to shop but to have a quick chat about the weather or the local news. It's a loud, busy environment, but I wouldn't have it any other way. We keep the doors open from early morning until late at night. The ceiling fan wobbles a bit and makes a clicking sound, but it keeps the air moving. It’s just a humble provision store trying to serve the local neighborhood as best as we can. We try to keep our prices fair for everyone.
