Being up on the 6th floor of Raheja Towers on M.G. Road is a bit different than being on a factory floor. This is where the paperwork for Southern Iron And Steel Company Limited happens. It’s the East Wing, room U-607. Down on M.G. Road, it’s always loud with traffic and people, but up here it’s a bit quieter so we can actually think. We deal with a lot of iron and steel logistics and planning. It’s mostly phone calls, looking at spreadsheets, and making sure the shipments are going where they are supposed to go. We aren’t a huge corporate team with fancy suits. Most of us just wear regular clothes and try to get through the day’s tasks. Sometimes the elevators in Raheja Towers are slow, which can be annoying when you’re in a hurry. We don't have a big philosophy or anything. We just need to make sure the steel gets moved and the accounts are right. It’s a lot of coordination between different sites. Sometimes the phones don't stop ringing and it feels a bit chaotic, but we usually get it sorted out by the time we head home. We’ve been in this building for a while now. It’s a convenient spot because it’s central, even if the parking is a bit of a nightmare sometimes. We just do our jobs and try to keep things moving as smoothly as we can.
