Sourceone Management Services is based in Kolkata, a city that we all really love despite the heat and the crowds. We do management work, which means we spend a lot of time helping other businesses stay organized. Our office is in a regular building, nothing special to look at. We have a few desks, some old filing cabinets, and a lot of notebooks scattered around. We aren't some big corporate machine with thousands of rules. We’re just a group of people who are good at organizing things and finding the right people for different jobs. Kolkata has a lot of energy, and we try to bring that into our work every day. We talk to a lot of different people, from business owners to folks looking for their first job. We don’t give them a scripted speech. We just talk to them like we would talk to a neighbor. Sometimes we have to tell people things they don’t want to hear, like a job isn't a good fit, but we try to be fair about it. We don't have a mission statement on the wall. We just want to do our work well enough that we can keep doing it for a long time. It’s a practical business. We show up, we answer the phones, we look through the piles of paper, and we try to be helpful to anyone who calls. It gets messy sometimes, but that is just how things go when you are busy.
