Soma Transport

We have been here at 2 Chamrajpet 1st Cross for a good while now. Our office is on the 1st floor of the B K Mariappa Hostel Building. It is easy to find once you get into the lane. Most days start pretty early around here. The drivers come in, we check the schedules, and the phones start ringing before the tea is even hot. It is not a fancy place. The stairs in the hostel building are a bit narrow, so you have to watch your step. We keep a lot of logs and paperwork on the desks. Moving things from one place to another is just what we do every day. Sometimes the traffic outside gets really loud, especially near the 1st cross. You can hear the city moving while we sit and figure out the routes. We have a few old chairs for visitors. People stop by to ask about rates or just to check where their stuff is. It gets dusty with the windows open, but that is part of being in Chamrajpet. We don’t have a big reception area or anything like that. It’s just us working at our desks, making sure the trucks are where they should be. It is busy, often a bit chaotic, but we manage. We just keep the files organized as much as we can and try to stay on top of the deliveries. Sometimes we have to stay late to wait for a driver to call in. It is just part of the routine here in Chamrajpet.
