Solar Soles Pvt. Ltd. is based at New No.266 on Periiyar Evr High Road in the Kilpauk area. It’s a busy part of the city, and the High Road is almost never quiet. Our building is right there among the other shops and offices, and we’ve been here for a while now. We work on shoe soles, so there’s often a faint smell of rubber or plastic in the air. The workspace is divided into a front area for some admin work and a larger back area where we keep the stock and do the packing. It gets pretty warm in Chennai, so we have several wall fans that stay on all day long. The building has an older style, with windows that don't always close quite right, but it lets in some natural light. We aren't big on corporate meetings or fancy presentations. Most of the time, we’re just checking orders and making sure the right soles are going to the right manufacturers. Periiyar Evr High Road is a main artery, so we see a lot of the city’s life passing by our front door every hour. Lunch breaks are usually spent eating at our desks or heading to one of the small eateries nearby for some rice. It’s a very practical, no-nonsense environment where we focus on the task at hand. We don't have any flashy signs, just our name on the door and a lot of work to get through at New No.266 before the sun goes down.
