Smart Kids

Smart Kids is tucked away on Old Post Office Road in Kolar. It’s at Padmini Nivas, which is a building many people around here already know. Every morning, parents drop off their little ones and the place gets noisy pretty fast. We have some colorful mats on the floor and small chairs for the children to sit on. The walls have some drawings they made, which aren’t perfect but they look nice enough. It gets quite bright in the rooms when the sun comes up. We spend most of our time looking after the kids and making sure they don’t trip over things. The street outside can be a bit narrow, so pick-up time is always a bit of a rush with scooters and cars. We’ve got a couple of cupboards filled with toys and some old books that have been read a hundred times. There isn't much to say about the building itself, it's just a regular house turned into a space for children. Sometimes we have to move the furniture around to make more space for them to run. The fans keep things cool enough during the afternoons. It’s a simple setup we’ve got going here in Kolar. No one wears uniforms or anything too formal, it’s just us and the kids getting through the day. We try to keep the place tidy, though with twenty kids running around, that doesn’t always happen as planned.
