Working out of an apartment building like Paramount Piltous is a bit different from a standard office block. We are in unit A-3 703 in Arakere, and that is where Sistatva Internet is based. It is a quiet spot, which is good because we need to concentrate on coding and technical stuff. The view from the 7th floor is actually pretty nice on clear days. We have wires and cables running all over the place because of the servers we keep. It is a bit of a mess, but we know where everything is. We are not a huge tech company with thousands of employees. We are just a few people who like building things for the internet. We don’t have an HR department or a formal dress code. Most of the time we are just in t-shirts and flip-flops. We make a lot of tea in the small kitchen and sometimes we work out on the balcony when the weather is good. Arakere is a busy area, but once you are up in the apartment, it feels much calmer. If the internet goes down, which happens sometimes, we just take a break and talk about things. We aren't trying to change the world; we just want to make stuff that works well. It is a very relaxed and honest way to work. We just do our bit and try to stay out of the city's madness.
