Working out of 57 Doddakallasandra, especially being on the 2nd Main and 41st Cross, means we are tucked away a bit. Simyol Furniture Interior Decorator is basically just a workshop where things are always a little messy with wood shavings and bits of fabric. We spend most of our time measuring things twice and hoping we don't have to cut them a third time. It’s a noisy place with the drills and saws going, but we’re used to it by now. The neighbors don’t seem to mind too much as long as we stop work by early evening. We have a lot of samples lying around on the tables, and sometimes it’s hard to find a clear spot to sit down and have lunch. It’s just how we work, focusing on the pieces in front of us rather than worrying about having a perfect-looking office. Most people find us because they live nearby or saw one of our trucks parked on the street. We use simple tools and try to keep our sketches clear so everyone knows what the plan is. It’s not a fancy studio with air conditioning, just a regular space where we get the job done. Sometimes we run out of coffee and have to walk down the block to the small shop on the corner. That’s usually when we get our best ideas anyway, just walking and talking about the next project. We keep things simple here and just focus on the wood.
