Simco Fasteners

Our office is tucked away on the second floor of Rajmahal building right on Veer Nariman Road. It is an old part of Mumbai, so the walls have that aged feel and you can sometimes catch a bit of the salt in the air from the sea nearby. Being at Simco Fasteners means spending a lot of time around heavy boxes and small metal parts. If you walk in, you will likely see someone counting out bolts or checking the threads on a batch of screws. It is repetitive work, I suppose, but someone has to make sure the sizes are exactly right. We use old wooden desks that have been here since the start, and there is always a ledger or two lying open. The traffic on Veer Nariman Road is always humming in the background, but we hardly notice it anymore. We are just a small group of people who understand the hardware business. We don't have a big corporate lobby or anything like that. Just a simple workspace where we keep track of our stock and talk to the people who buy from us. Some days are slow and we sit around talking about the cricket score, while other days we are rushing to get a delivery ready for a client across town. It is a plain, honest way to earn a living, and we are quite content with the way things run here in our little corner of the Rajmahal.
