Siddiqi Stores

Siddiqi Stores sits right on Lalbagh Road in Bengaluru South, at number 58. If you know the area, you know how busy the traffic can get out there. The noise from the honking never really stops, even when we are trying to close up for the night. Our store is just a basic place. We have been here through the seasons, watching the city grow taller around us. We sell a bit of everything that a household might need. The shelves are packed tight, and sometimes things fall off if you are not careful. We are not into fancy decorations or big glass windows. It is mostly just racks of goods and a counter where we stand. Some days are slow, especially when it rains hard and the road gets flooded. Those days we just sit and talk or reorganize the stock. The neighbors come by to chat as much as they do to buy things. We have a regular routine of opening the shutters early and sweeping the front. It is hard work, standing on your feet all day, but it is what we do. We do not have a website or anything like that. If people want something, they just walk in. We try to keep the prices fair because we know everyone in the area. It is just a small, local shop trying to stay busy in a big, loud city.
