Our place, SI Communication, is located in Frazer Town, inside the Kasturba Society area on Rander Road 5. It is a decent-sized room with a high ceiling that makes it feel bigger than it actually is. We have a lot of old posters on the walls and some shelves that we built ourselves out of spare planks. Most of our work involves helping people with their mobile connections or fixing small issues with their devices. The workbench in the back is always messy with bits of wire and solder. We have a comfortable old sofa for customers to sit on, but the springs are starting to go, so you sink in pretty deep. Frazer Town is a nice place to be, and we get a lot of regulars who just stop by to say hello on their way to the market. We aren't trying to be a big chain or anything like that. We just focus on what’s in front of us. The lights inside are a bit dim, which makes it easier to see the small parts we work on. Sometimes the rain leaks a little near the back door, so we have to keep a bucket there during the monsoon. We usually close up around eight in the evening once the street lights come on. It’s a simple, honest shop where we just do our daily work without much fuss or bother.
