Shuja Metal Industries

Shuja Metal Industries is over on Sadar Patrappa Road, at Big Bazzar Street 57. If you have ever been to SP Road, you know it is a very crowded place. There is barely enough room to walk, let alone move heavy metal. Our shop is narrow and we have metal sheets stacked right up to the ceiling. It is a bit dark inside. We have been here for a long time, trading in different types of metals. Mostly we deal with brass and copper. It is heavy work. We spend a lot of time moving things around to find what the customer wants. The street outside is always noisy with horns and people shouting. We don't have a lot of space for customers to stand. They usually wait on the pavement while we cut the metal to size. We use a big manual shear for most of it. My hands are always calloused from the work. We keep a big old ledger to write down the sales. It is a very old-fashioned way of doing things but it works for us. We get our tea from the guy who walks around with a kettle. The air always has a bit of a metallic tang to it. It is just a regular shop in a busy market, trying to get through the day's tasks.
