Our shop is located in RPC Layout, specifically over at 4th Main and 4th Cross in Hampinagar. The building number is 2220/A, but most people just look for the sign near the corner. It’s a regular telecom shop, nothing too special to look at from the street. Inside, we have rows of SIM cards and all the different recharge vouchers that people still like to use. I’ve got a couple of glass display cases that are a bit scratched up from years of use. We handle a lot of the local folks who need help with their mobile connections or just want a new pair of earphones because they lost theirs on the bus. The space is small, so it gets crowded quickly if more than three people are inside at once. I usually have the radio playing softly in the background to pass the time between customers. It’s a lot of sitting and waiting, then a sudden rush of people all at once. I don’t use any fancy systems to keep track of things, just a big notebook where I scribble down what’s been done. The neighborhood is quiet enough, mostly residential, so we know the faces of the people who walk by every morning. It’s a decent way to earn a living, just being part of the local layout and helping out with phone stuff whenever someone stops in for a few minutes.
