Shree Upahara

We are located at Jayanagar 7th Block 265/C. It is a fairly quiet corner if you compare it to the main roads nearby. Our morning starts with us dragging the heavy crates inside and getting the water boiling on the stove. The building is quite old and the walls are a light yellow color that has faded quite a bit over the years. We have a few potted plants near the entrance but they don't grow very much because of the shade from the tall building next door. Most days are pretty much the same here. People walk by on their way to the bus stop and some of them stop in for a few minutes. We don't have a big staff at all, just a few of us who know where all the supplies are kept in the small pantry. The counter is made of a dark wood and it has plenty of scratches on it from years of people leaning on it. We keep the spoons in a big metal tin near the water. Sometimes the sink in the back leaks a little bit but we just put a bucket under it and it’s fine for the day. Jayanagar is a nice area to be in and you see the same neighbors every week. We don't do anything special, we just keep the place open. It gets a bit crowded around the middle of the day but then it clears out by three. We usually spend that quiet time wiping down the tables and checking what we need to buy for the next morning.
