Shree Rama Steels & Cements

The shop is right there at 636 Nagarbhavi, just opposite the road from the petrol bunk. It’s a busy spot, especially with all the vehicles pulling in and out for fuel all day. We deal with steel and cement, so things stay pretty dusty around here. If you walk in, you’ll probably see bags of cement stacked up high and steel rods of different sizes lying around. It’s heavy work. My clothes usually have some white dust on them by noon. We’ve been at this for some time. It’s not a fancy showroom with air conditioning or anything like that. We have a small desk where we keep the accounts and talk to the guys who come in with their trucks. Sometimes the delivery trucks block the road for a bit, and we have to move things quickly. It gets hectic when a big order comes in. We don't use any big fancy systems to track things, just some old notebooks and a calculator that has seen better days. The sun gets quite hot in the afternoon because of the open front. People from the neighborhood know us. They stop by when they are building a small wall or even a whole house. We just sell the stuff and try to get it loaded without too much trouble. It is a straightforward business. We show up, move the heavy materials, and go home tired. It's just a regular local hardware life.
