Shree Mookambika Furnitures

We run Shree Mookambika Furnitures out of the Krishnappa Building in Jalahalli West. You have to find E V Lane to get to us. It’s a workshop as much as it is a shop. There’s usually some sawdust on the floor and the smell of wood in the air. We’ve been making and selling things here for a good while. It’s not a fancy showroom with glass windows and air conditioning. It's more of a practical place where we put things together by hand. We use local wood mostly for the items we build. The space is a bit tight with all the wardrobes, beds, and tables we have stacked up waiting to go out. We’re just local people doing wood work. Sometimes we’re out back fixing something or cutting boards, so you might have to shout to get our attention when you walk in. We don't have a big marketing team or a sales department. It’s just us and our tools. People find us by word of mouth or by walking past the lane. We take pride in just making stuff that lasts for a long time. The building itself is old, but it’s sturdy. We’ve seen many shops come and go in Jalahalli, but we’re still here doing our work. It’s just a regular business doing what it knows best. We often have tea together in the afternoon while we talk about the day's tasks. There is always a lot of work to be done.
