You can find us in Vijaya Nagar, over on the 2nd Cross at number 1402. Shree Lakshmi Flower Decorators has been part of this neighborhood for a good while now. It’s a busy little spot, especially during the wedding season or when there’s a festival coming up. There’s usually some flowers scattered on the floor and the smell of jasmine everywhere, which isn't a bad way to spend a day. We have a few long tables where we sit and put things together. It’s mostly manual work, using our hands to tie knots and arrange stems. Our walls have some old photos of decorations we did years ago, though they're a bit faded now. The 2nd Cross is usually packed with parked cars, so it’s easier if you’re on a bike. Sometimes we’re up all night working on a big order for a temple or a house warming. We drink a lot of coffee to keep going during those long hours. It’s not a corporate office at all; it’s more like a workshop that spills out onto the sidewalk when we get really busy. The neighborhood kids sometimes stop by to look at the colorful heaps of petals. We just try to do a solid job and make sure the flowers are fresh when they leave our door. It’s a messy, colorful, and tiring business, but it’s what we know how to do. We’ve been at 1402 for years and don't really plan on moving anywhere else.
