Shree Durga & Co

Shree Durga & Co is situated at 4 Banashankari 2nd Stage in the Sultanpet area of Bangalore. We are tucked away right behind the Canara Bank, which is a big landmark that helps people find our entrance. Sultanpet is a very traditional and busy part of the city, known for its narrow streets and a lot of wholesale activity. Our shop reflects that same energy; it’s a bit cramped with all the stock we have to keep on hand. We spend most of our mornings unloading new supplies and getting everything situated on the shelves. It’s a lot of physical work, so we aren't usually dressed in anything fancy. The office part is just a small corner with a table and a ledger where we keep track of who owes what. We’ve been part of this market for a long time and we know how the system works here. It can be quite loud with the sounds of the bank and the other shops nearby, but we’ve grown used to it. We don't have a website or a big marketing plan; we just open the doors and get to work every morning. Most of our customers are people we have known for years, so it feels more like a community than a cold business transaction. When it rains, we have to move some of the stock back from the door to keep it dry. It’s just how things go in this part of town.
