Shree Alvas Delicacy

You can find us over on Jss Road in Chira Bazar, Mahadevapura. Shree Alvas Delicacy started out because we wanted to share the kind of food we grew up eating. It’s not a very big shop, just a counter and a few benches for people to sit if they’re not taking their food to go. We spend most of our time in the back preparing the different items. The smell of frying and spices is always there in the air. We get a lot of people stopping by on their way home from work to pick up something for their families. The Chira Bazar area is always bustling, so there's never a dull moment outside our window. We use traditional recipes that haven't changed much over the years. We aren't interested in making things look perfect for photos; we just want them to taste right. Sometimes we run out of certain items before the day is over, and we just have to tell people to come back tomorrow. It’s a modest operation with just a handful of staff members. We all pitch in with the cleaning and the serving. It’s hard work, especially when the weather is humid, but we like seeing the same faces coming back week after week. It’s just a normal local shop doing what we know how to do. The door sticks a little when it's wet outside, and the paint on the sign is fading, but we're here every day regardless of the weather outside.
