Shobha Stores

Shobha Stores is down on Srirampuram New Vithalwadi Station Road, right in Panchashil Nagar 22. It’s a place that has seen a lot of changes in the neighborhood over the years. We sell a bit of everything that people in this part of town might need on a daily basis. The shop is narrow and the shelves go all the way to the top. I have a small stool I use to reach the items on the highest shelf. It’s a bit wobbly, so I have to be careful. The floor is swept every morning, but with people coming in and out from the station road, it gets dirty again pretty fast. We have a big jar of sweets on the counter for the kids who come in with their parents. It’s mostly just me or my brother working here. We know most of the customers by name because they live right around the corner. We don’t do any advertising. People just know we are here. Sometimes it gets a bit loud when the trains are nearby, but we don't even notice it anymore. The back room is where we keep the extra stock, and it’s always a bit of a mess in there. We try to keep things simple and honest. If we don’t have something, we just tell you straight. It’s a small shop, but it keeps us busy from morning till night, and we’re happy to be here every single day.
