Shivam Sugars

Shivam Sugars is tucked away near the main road on Ankale Road, right by the Sankeshwar Post Office. If you know the area around G.P. Hiramath’s place, you’ve probably passed us plenty of times. We deal with sugar, which sounds simple but there is actually a lot of moving parts to it. Usually, it's just about getting the bags moved and making sure the storage stays dry. Sankeshwar is a busy enough spot, and being near the post office helps people find us, though the traffic on the main road can be a bit of a headache during the middle of the day. We aren't a giant factory with hundreds of people. It’s a smaller operation here. We spend a lot of time checking the stock and talking to the drivers who come in and out. Sometimes the rain makes things difficult because you can't let the sugar get damp, or it’s all ruined. We just try to keep things running without too much trouble. It’s a lot of physical work, lifting and stacking things up. We’ve been at this location for a bit, and we know most of the neighbors around here. It isn't a glamorous job, but people need sugar, so we stay busy. You’ll see the trucks backed up sometimes waiting to load. That’s just how it goes on a normal Tuesday. It is a lot of effort, but we are used to the routine by now.
