About Shishudham Play Home – Education in Bengaluru
Number 20 Ganesh Prasad on 20th Cross is where you’ll find us. It’s a house that we’ve turned into a space for children here in Basaveshwara Nagar. Because it’s an old building, it has that specific smell of floor wax and old wood. We spend our mornings at Shishudham Play Home surrounded by toys, small chairs, and the sound of kids running around. It can get very loud, especially right before lunch or when it’s time to go home. The backyard has some space where they can play, though we have to watch them every second. Inside, the walls are covered in drawings and cut-outs that the kids have made. It’s definitely not a tidy place; there’s always a block or a crayon hiding somewhere on the floor. We try to keep things organized, but with twenty kids, that’s a losing battle most days. The neighbors are used to the noise by now, though we try to keep the shouting down during nap time. Kr Road is right nearby, so there’s always a bit of traffic noise in the background. We have a few staff members who have been here since the beginning. It’s hard work, and by the end of the day, we are all pretty exhausted. We just want to provide a safe spot for the local families to drop their kids off. There isn't any fancy equipment, just the basics and a lot of patience for the little ones.
