Our PG is located just off C G Road in the Electronic City area. It’s tucked away a bit, which is nice because it’s not right on the main noisy road. We have several rooms for guys who work in the IT sector around here. Each room has the basic stuff like a bed, a place for clothes, and a small table. We provide meals every day, mostly just simple home-style food that doesn't cost too much to make. The dining hall has a TV that everyone watches during dinner, usually news or cricket matches. I handle the daily chores like checking the water tanks and making sure the gate is locked at night for safety. The building is painted a bright color so it stands out a bit from the others on the street. Sometimes we have issues with the plumbing, but we get the local guy to fix it pretty fast. It’s a lived-in place, so there are always shoes near the door and clothes drying on the balcony when the sun is out. We don't try to make it look like something it isn't. It’s just a place for people to live while they are away from home. Most of our residents are young men just starting their first jobs in the big city. We keep a register at the front where everyone signs in and out. It’s a busy life, but it works for us and for the people staying here.
