Sheritions Museum sits right on Rajbhavan Road. It’s an old building, and you can tell by the way the doors sound when they open. We’ve got a lot of items on display, and most of them have been gathered over a long time. It’s not like those big city museums with touchscreens and high-tech lights. We mostly use old wooden cabinets and glass cases that need regular dusting. Sometimes the lightbulbs flicker a bit in the back hallway, but we get to them eventually. The staff here is just a couple of people who actually enjoy looking at old things. We spend a lot of time organizing the shelves and making sure the labels are readable. Some of the labels are still handwritten because it feels more personal that way. Rajbhavan Road gets a fair amount of traffic, but inside the museum, it’s usually pretty still. We don't have a gift shop or a cafe. It’s just the exhibits and a few chairs for when your legs get tired. People come in when they want a bit of quiet or to see something they haven't seen before. We don't do much advertising. Most people just walk in because they were passing by and got curious. We try to keep the place tidy, though the old floors are hard to keep perfectly clean. It’s just how the building is. We’re often here in the mornings just checking the locks and making sure everything is where it should be for the day.
