I am at 27 Gandhi Nagar, which is a place that hasn't changed much over the years. My office is a small room that I have set up just the way I like it. It isn't anything special to look at from the outside. I have a sturdy table and a couple of cupboards for all the files. I usually start the morning by watering the couple of plants I keep on the ledge. They don't get much sun but they manage. Gandhi Nagar is a busy area, but my corner stays relatively quiet most of the time. I like the rhythm of the day here. I see the same people walking to work every morning. We nod at each other but don't say much. I have been doing this for a long time now. It is just a regular job and I am a regular person doing it. Sometimes the rain leaks a little near the window when it pours hard, so I have to keep a towel there. It is those little things that make the place feel like mine. I don't use any fancy systems. Just a pen, some paper, and a bit of patience. When people come by, they usually sit for a while and talk about the news. It is a good way to stay connected to what is happening around the city. I usually close up early on Saturdays to go to the market.
