Down in Mamulpet, specifically at 190, you’ll find our shop. We are right near A One School and not far from Subhash Chowk. This part of the city is always crowded with people buying and selling all sorts of things. The lanes are narrow, and there’s always someone pushing a cart or carrying a heavy load. Our place is small and packed from floor to ceiling with stock. There’s barely enough room for more than two people to stand at the counter at once. We’ve been here for generations, so we know most of the other shopkeepers on the street. It’s a busy life. We open early and usually don't close until late in the evening. There’s no air conditioning, just a ceiling fan that’s seen better days. We don't spend money on fancy displays. The products are stacked where they fit. Customers know what they want and they come here because they’ve been coming here for years. We don't use computers much; most things are still written down in books. It’s a bit old-fashioned, but it works for us. The noise from the street is constant, but you get used to it after a while. It’s just how business is done in Mamulpet. We are just a local shop doing what we’ve always done, day after day. It's dusty and loud but it's home for us during the day.
