There is always the sound of machines or trucks in the background. Our unit is a practical space designed for metalwork. It’s not meant to be pretty. The floors are stained with oil in some places and there is metal scrap in the bins. We have our machines lined up and enough room for us to move around while we work. It’s a tough environment, especially in the middle of summer when the metal roof gets hot. We just drink plenty of water and keep going. We don't have a big corporate office attached to the unit. Just a small corner with a desk and a computer for the paperwork. We’ve been part of Sidco for a long time and we know how things work here. Most of our day is spent at the machines or handling the tools. We don't have any fancy mission statements or slogans. We just focus on making sure the tools are formed correctly. It’s a place for people who aren't afraid to get their hands dirty. We take pride in just showing up and doing the work without any fuss. It is a straightforward industrial life.
