Selva Foods

Selva Foods is located in the Peenya Industrial Area on Champura Road 340B. Being in an industrial zone means there is always a lot of noise from the neighboring factories and trucks rumbling by. Our place at 340B is pretty much a functional space. We have a lot of stainless steel tables and everything is about the process of getting food items ready. It’s not a place where people come to hang out. It’s all about the production line and getting the packaging done right. The air smells like whatever we happen to be working on that day. We wear our hairnets and aprons and just get to it. The shift starts early and ends when the quota is met. Sometimes the machinery acts up and we have to spend half the afternoon fixing it, which puts us behind. Champura Road gets really clogged with traffic in the evenings, so we try to get our deliveries out before the rush starts. It’s a tough environment, very practical and focused on the output. We don’t have much time for small talk during the day. We just keep our eyes on the work. It’s a bit of a grind, but that’s how it is in Peenya. We’ve got a small break area, but mostly we’re out on the floor. It’s just how Selva Foods operates, keeping things moving in the middle of the industrial hub.
