If you’re coming down Uttara Halli Main Road, you have to keep a sharp eye out for the turn-off near Chikkagowdanapalya. It’s a bit tucked away, which is fine by us because it keeps the noise of the main road at a distance. The area is quite industrial, so you’ll see plenty of trucks and workers moving about all day. Our building is a simple structure, very practical for the kind of thermodyne work we do. It’s often a bit noisy inside with the machines running, and the smell of metal and oil is something you just get used to after the first week. We aren't sitting in plush chairs; it’s more about being on the floor and making sure the equipment is behaving. The team here is small, mostly guys who have been doing this for years and don't need much direction. We have a small office space for the bills and the phone calls, but the real work happens in the back. It gets pretty hot during the afternoons, especially when the machines have been running since morning. We usually take our breaks together and talk about whatever is going on in the neighborhood.
