Satchianand Precision Tooling Center

If you find yourself on 5th Main Road in Chamarajpet, you’ll probably see our sign for Satchianand Precision Tooling Center at 35/A. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze around Mahadevapura sometimes with all the trucks and bikes moving through, but we manage. Inside, it’s mostly just rows of machines and a lot of steel shavings on the floor. We spend the better part of our mornings checking measurements. Precision is a lot of squinting at dials and making sure the lathes are behaving themselves. It’s not the kind of job where you can rush things or you’ll end up wasting a perfectly good piece of material. My hands usually have a few small cuts from the metal edges, but that’s just how it goes when you work with tools all day. We’ve been in this neighborhood long enough that we know the guys at the tea stall by name. Chamarajpet has changed a lot over the years, but the way we handle the tooling hasn't changed much. It’s still about the sound of the cutters and the smell of the oil. We don’t have a big marketing team or anything like that, just a few of us who know how to handle the equipment. Most days, we’re just busy trying to get through the stack of orders on the desk. It’s quiet work in a noisy city, and we just keep our heads down and get it finished. There is always something that needs fixing or a tool that needs sharpening before the day is over.
