Sarveshwara Rice Traders

Our shop is at number 76 on the 9th Main Road in HMT Layout. It’s right near the 7th Cross. If you know R T Nagar, you’ve probably passed by us many times. Sarveshwara Rice Traders is a small setup. We don't grow the rice ourselves; we bring it in from the mills and sell it to the people in the neighborhood and some smaller shops. The front of the place is usually stacked high with bags of different varieties. You can smell the grain when you walk in. It’s a bit cramped inside because we try to keep a lot of stock ready. We don't have fancy displays or bright lights. We just have the bags and some scales. My cousin and I run the place. We spend a lot of time talking to customers, explaining which rice is better for what they are cooking. We don't use any sales tactics. We just tell them what we know. Sometimes the delivery truck is late and we have to apologize to the regulars. It’s just how it goes with logistics. We’ve been in this layout for years, so we know most of the families around here. We see their kids growing up. It’s a neighborhood business. We open early and stay open until it’s dark. It's not a glamorous life, but it's a good one. We just try to provide what people need for their daily meals. We are here every day.
