Working at B/231 in the Peenya Industrial Area is a bit of a daily grind, but we are used to it by now. We are on the 6th Cross, 1st stage. Sarda Alloy Steel Pvt Ltd has been around this part of town for quite some time. It is a noisy place, honestly. Between the trucks moving outside and the machines running inside, there isn't much quiet time. The air always smells a bit like metal and oil. We don't have a fancy reception area with a coffee machine. Usually, we just grab a tea from the stall at the end of the road. Most of the guys here have been working with us for years. We know each other's families and what's going on in the neighborhood. The 1st stage of Peenya is always busy. If a machine breaks down, we spend the afternoon trying to get it running again. It’s not the kind of job where you wear a suit. You’re going to get some grease on your clothes before the day is out. We just handle the orders as they come in and try to keep things moving. The building is just a standard industrial unit with a small office tucked in the front. It’s a practical space. We don’t need much else. It gets pretty hot in the summer months under the metal roof, but we have some old fans that help a bit. It’s loud, it’s hot, but it is our work.
