Saravanan Flour Mill

We are tucked away at number 625 in Ombr Layout, right on the Bhuvanagiri Main Road. If you are walking through Banswadi, you might hear our machines before you see the sign. It’s a bit noisy here most days, especially when several people show up at once with their sacks of grain. The flour gets into everything, covering the shelves and the floor in a thin white layer, no matter how much we sweep. We have been in this spot for a good while now, watching the shops around us change every few years. My brother and I usually handle the grinding ourselves while a couple of local boys help with the heavy lifting and moving the bags around. The road outside is always jammed with traffic, which makes unloading things a bit of a headache sometimes. We don't have a big fancy office or anything like that, just the milling area and a small corner where we keep the accounts. Usually, the morning starts with a quick tea from the stall nearby before we turn on the motors. It’s hard work and the heat from the machines can get pretty bad during the summer months, but it's what we know. Most of our regulars are families from the nearby blocks who have been coming to us since their kids were small. We just try to get the work done and keep the machines running smooth so nobody has to wait too long.
