Saravana Foundry

Saravana Foundry is located at 1302 Nagarabhavi, right on Sri Krishna Temple Road. If you come by here, you’ll definitely notice the heat. Foundries are not cool places to be. We work with molten metal and molds every single day. It’s a tough, sweaty job but we’ve been doing it at this Nagarabhavi location for a long time. The sound of the furnace and the clanging of metal is the background music to our lives. We are right near the Sri Krishna Temple, so on festival days, the road gets incredibly crowded with people and stalls. Our shop is filled with sand, scrap metal, and heavy tools. We don’t have a fancy reception area. If you want to talk to us, you usually have to find us on the floor where the work is happening. We make all sorts of metal parts for machines and buildings. It’s a traditional way of working. We use our hands and a lot of old-fashioned techniques that still work better than the new stuff. The guys here are used to the hard work. We start early in the morning before the sun gets too hot, though it doesn't make much difference once the furnace is lit. We aren't here to look pretty; we are here to cast metal and get the orders out on time. It’s an honest way to make a living and we take pride in what we do. Sometimes the soot gets on everything, but that's part of the trade. We just keep the fire going and do our best.
