About Sapna Provisional Store – Food & Beverages in Bengaluru
This is a small shop at number 30 in Muthyalamma Nagar, part of the Teachers Colony in Venkatapura. We sell the basic things people need for their kitchens and homes. It’s a neighborhood store, so we know most of the people who walk through the door by name. We have bins for rice and pulses, and shelves for soaps and oils. It’s a bit crowded inside because we try to fit as much as possible so people don't have to go far for their groceries. We open early in the morning before the kids go to school and stay open until late in the evening. There isn't any fancy layout here. Things are just where they've always been for years. Sometimes we run out of something and have to wait for the next delivery, and the customers are usually okay with waiting a day or two. We don't use a lot of big machines, just a simple weighing scale and a notepad for the credit accounts some neighbors keep. It’s an old-fashioned way of doing things, but it works for us. The shop has been in the family for a long time. My kids sometimes help out after their classes are done for the day. It’s not a glamorous life, but it’s a good one. We enjoy the chat with the ladies who come to buy their daily milk and bread or just to see how we are doing. The overhead light flickers sometimes but we just get on with it.
