Santosh Transport

Santosh Transport is located at Chickpet Okchel 63. If you know Chickpet, you know how crowded and tight the streets are. It’s a crazy place to run a transport business, but we’ve been here a long time. We mostly deal with the traders and shopkeepers in the market who need to move their stock. It’s a lot of boxes of cloth and household items. The office is very small because space is so expensive around here. We usually just have enough room for a desk and a couple of stools. Most of the work happens out on the street anyway. We have to be very careful with the timing because the trucks can’t enter some of these lanes during the day. It takes a lot of planning and sometimes we have to use handcarts to get the goods to the main road. It’s a tough environment, very loud and very hot most of the year. We don't have any big marketing plans. We just talk to the people we see every day in the market. If someone has a load that needs to go, they tell us and we figure out a way to get it done. Sometimes things get delayed because of the crowd or a festival, but that’s just how it is in Chickpet. We are just local guys trying to help the market move its goods. It’s hard work, but we are used to it by now.
