Santosh Steels

Santosh Steels is located on Sadar Patrappa Road, or SP Road as most people call it here. We are in Hariom Park, specifically in room 101. If you know SP Road, you know it is the heart of the hardware and metal trade. It is crowded, loud, and full of trucks and carts all day long. Our spot in Hariom Park is just one of many, but we’ve been here for a while. Room 101 is our main base. It’s full of steel samples and ledgers. We don't have a lot of space for anything else. The air usually smells like metal and old paper. It’s a bit of a squeeze when more than three people are inside at once. We spend our time talking to customers and sorting out the steel orders. There’s no air conditioning, just a couple of wall fans that struggle in the summer. We don’t use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. We just sell steel and keep the books. Most of our neighbors are doing the same thing. You find a lot of hard-working people on this road. We have a routine that starts early before the traffic gets too bad. By midday, it’s a mess outside, but we just stay in our room and finish the work. It’s a basic operation, but it works for us. Just a small shop in a very busy part of the city.
