At Halasuru 3, the shop is small and filled with the glow of screen displays. It’s a narrow space, so we have to be careful not to bump into each other when there’s more than one person working. We spend most of our time hunched over workbenches, fixing cracked screens or trying to get old batteries out of phones. There are wires and tiny screws everywhere, and if you drop one, it’s a real pain to find it on the floor. People come in all day with phones that won't charge or buttons that are stuck. We also have a bunch of cases and screen guards hanging on the walls to give people some choices. The street outside is pretty loud, but inside it’s mostly just the sound of small tools clicking and the hum of the soldering iron. We don't have a big sign or anything flashy, just the name on the glass. Sometimes we have to explain that a part will take a few days to arrive, and we keep those phones in a little numbered cabinet. It’s a busy little spot, and the days go by fast when there are a lot of repairs to get through. We just focus on the work at hand and try to keep the desk somewhat clear of all the clutter that builds up. It’s a simple mobile shop in a busy part of town and we try to keep things organized.
