Being on Sampige Road in Malleshwaram means there is never a quiet moment. Our shop at 41548 near 1st cross is always seeing people walking by. We have the new phones laid out on the counters, and the lights are quite bright inside to show them off. It's different from the old shops around here because everything is a bit more modern. We spend a lot of time explaining how the cameras work or helping someone move their photos to a new device. The street outside is full of flower sellers and people heading to the temple, so the smell of jasmine sometimes wafts in. We have those stools for people to sit while we check their phone settings. Sometimes the shop gets so crowded that people have to wait outside on the pavement. We try to keep the glass clean but with so many people touching the screens, it's a constant job. The air conditioning is always running because the afternoon sun hits the front window pretty hard. We have a small back room for the stock and where we take our lunch. It's a fast-paced place compared to the quiet residential lanes nearby. We just keep the phones charged and ready for anyone who wants to take a look at them. It’s just a busy day, every day. People come in from all over the city because this road is so famous. We stay open until the market starts to wind down. It is a tiring job but being in Malleshwaram is always interesting.
