If you’re driving down Vasanthapura Main Road near Konanakunte Cross, you’ve probably passed our little spot at 21/1. It’s a small shop, really just a single room filled with phone chargers, cables, and those little plastic cases that everyone seems to need. I spend most of my day sitting behind the glass counter, looking out at the traffic. It gets real noisy when the buses go by, but you stop noticing it after a while. People come in mostly because they cracked their screen or their battery isn't holding a charge like it used to. I’ve got tools scattered all over the back bench for fixing things. Sometimes it’s just a quick fix, other times I have to tell them to come back tomorrow. It’s just me here most of the time, so if I’m out for lunch, the shutter stays down for thirty minutes. The neighborhood has grown a lot, and there are more of these shops now than when I first started. But I know most of the regulars who live in the blocks behind the shop. We talk about the weather or the new road construction while I’m looking at their phones. It isn’t a high-tech lab, just a local place where you can get your phone sorted out without much fuss. We keep it simple and just try to stay busy enough to keep the lights on and the shelves stocked.
