Sai Rice Mart

You can find Sai Rice Mart at Shop No. 11/12 on the 3rd Cross Road, right off 2nd Main Road in Chamrajpet. We’ve been selling rice here for quite some time now. The shop is always filled with the smell of different types of grains, which is something I’ve grown very used to over the years. We carry a lot of different varieties, from the everyday stuff to the more expensive ones people buy for special occasions or festivals. It’s heavy work, moving those big gunny bags around all day, and my back definitely feels it by the evening. Chamrajpet is an old area with a lot of history, and we feel like we are a small part of that community. Our customers are mostly families who have lived nearby for many generations. They know exactly what they want, and they aren't afraid to tell us if the quality isn't what they expected. We don't use any fancy sales tactics or posters. We just show the rice, let people feel the grains with their hands, and tell them the price. The shop isn't very big, so we have to stack the bags high to make room for everything. Sometimes the delivery truck gets stuck in the narrow lane, and we have to carry the bags a long way by hand. It’s just how it is here. We keep things simple and try to be honest with everyone who shops with us.
