Sachin Provisions

Sachin Provisions is a small store in Mahalakshmi Layout, specifically in Shashtri Nagar at 322/A. We’ve been serving this neighborhood for a long time. It’s a typical provision store with bags of rice and pulses stacked up. We try to keep everything in stock, but sometimes the delivery trucks are late. The shelves are a bit crowded because we try to fit a lot into a small space. I usually sit behind the counter near the front door. My son helps out after his classes are over. It’s a family thing, really. We know most of the people who live on this street. They come in for milk or sugar and we chat for a minute. We don't have a computer for billing, just a notebook and a pen. It works fine for us. The shop stays cool even when it’s hot outside because of the stone floors. We open up at seven and don't close until late at night. There isn't much time for breaks. We don't do any advertising. People just see the shop when they walk by. It’s a bit dusty sometimes because of the road construction nearby. We just keep the shop running day after day. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s our life. We hope to stay here for a long time.
