Our workshop is at 55/4 in the Prakash Reddy Compound, over in Lakshmi Layout. It’s a busy part of Basavanagar, and there’s usually some noise from tools or people moving things around. We do interior work, which means we spend most of our time with wood, measurements, and a lot of sawdust. It isn't a clean office job. Most of the time, our clothes are covered in dust and we have pencils tucked behind our ears. We take on jobs for homes around Saroli and the nearby areas. If someone needs a kitchen cabinet or some wardrobes, they come find us in the compound. We don't have a big glossy catalog. We just talk to people, look at their space, and get to work with our hands. Sometimes the wood delivery is late or a saw needs sharpening, but we manage. It’s a small team of us here, and we’ve known each other for years. We just focus on getting the measurements right so the doors don't creak. The compound can get a bit messy with scraps and materials, but that’s just how we work. It’s a practical life, making things that people actually use in their houses. We don't do anything fancy, just solid work that stays put. If you walk into the layout, you’ll hear us working away from morning until the light fades. We enjoy the smell of fresh timber and the sound of the saws.
