S O Iron & Steel Traders

We are based at 20/4 on Jaya Chamarajendra Road, specifically tucked into Yakud Street. If you have been around here, you know it is the place to go for hardware and metal. S O Iron & Steel Traders is a straightforward shop. We have stacks of iron rods and steel sheets piled up, and there is usually a truck parked out front being loaded or unloaded. It is a heavy job and the air always smells a bit like metal. We have been trading here for a good number of years. It is a family-run kind of thing, so you will usually see one of us sitting at the small desk near the entrance. We deal with builders and local contractors who need materials for their projects. Sometimes the price of steel goes up and down, and we have to explain that to everyone who walks in. It is not a fancy office with air conditioning. We have a couple of fans and a lot of heavy lifting to do. Yakud Street is narrow, so things can get a bit crowded when the deliveries arrive at the same time. We just try to keep the inventory straight and make sure the weights are correct on the scale. It is hard work, but it is what we know. People come to us because we are right here in the heart of the market. We keep a simple logbook and try to stay on top of the daily orders.
