S M K L S Lorry Service is located at 3-A on the 1st Main Road of New Tharagpet. This area is a real hub for transport and wholesale trade, so it is always packed with lorries and people moving heavy loads. Our office is right in the thick of it. It’s a simple ground-floor space where we manage the lorry schedules and talk to the loaders. The street outside is narrow and can get very congested with all the trucks trying to navigate the turns, so there is always a lot of shouting and horns honking. Inside, the office is pretty basic. We have some sturdy wooden desks and old-fashioned ledger books where we record everything. We don't really go in for computers for everything; we find that writing things down still works best for us. There is usually a bit of dust from the bags of grain or other goods being moved nearby, and the smell of the market is always in the air. We spend most of our time coordinating with the drivers and making sure the lorries are loaded correctly. It’s hard work and the hours can be long, but we’ve been here in New Tharagpet for a long time and we know how the system works. People stop by all day, mostly regular customers or drivers looking for their next load. It’s a busy, noisy, and very real place to work.
