S L V Steel & Cements Traders

Our shop is over at 54 Mylasandra, right by the Parvat Gam. It is a dusty kind of place because of all the cement bags we move every day. We carry a lot of steel rods too, so there is always the sound of metal clanking together when the trucks arrive. It is hard work, mostly loading and unloading heavy stuff. We supply to small builders and people doing their own house repairs around the neighborhood. The office is just a tiny corner with a desk covered in receipts and a calculator that has seen better days. We don't spend much time sitting down anyway. Usually, we are out front checking the inventory or helping a customer figure out how many bags they need for a small job. The rain can be a real pain because we have to cover everything up with tarps quickly so the cement doesn't get ruined. We have a couple of guys who help with the deliveries, and they know the local streets better than anyone. We don’t do any fancy branding or big sales pitches. People come to us because they know we have what they need in stock and we don’t overcharge for the heavy items. It’s a straightforward way to make a living. We open early in the morning when the construction crews start their day and stay open until it’s too dark to see. Sometimes we have a little chat over a cup of coffee when the deliveries are done.
